I received the brush the other day, it had a horse smell but it's not as bad as I imagined it would be. I soaked it in cold water with apple cider vinegar as suggested in this forum, then shampooed it with Hair & Shoulder and left it for about 10 minutes with the shampoo, did this about 3 times, the smell was better. I did the same thing yesterday.
I used the brush this morning and the result is below. I can only compare to my other brush, a Wilkinson Sword, and I'm happy with it. I asked the kids to smell the brush after I finished shaving and they said it smelled like shampoo.
