Rebristling?

I have acquired a very nice antique shaving brush handle that I would like to have rebristled. I know that Shavemac offers this service, but seeing as I have more than my share of floppy brushes I was wondring if any of the other big name manufacturers offer this service? I have sent a few emails off already, but I would be interested to hear from anyone who has actually had this done.
FYI I am not criticising Shavemac, I am very fond of the Shavemac brush I own, I just want something slightly different.

Hey Alex, have you considered the other badger grades offered by Shavemac?like the pure and finest, just an option.
Cheers, DJ.

Alex.....I had Shavemac rebristle two ivory brushes last year. Take a look at my last posting on new acquisitions. I really don't think that you could do any better than Shavemac.

Steve, I saw your Ivory brush, very nice indeed. Deep down I know that Shavemac is probably the best option, their customer service can't be beaten, however, like all men I have defective brainwaves that force me to make everything as difficult as possible. Shavemac was always on the table, I was just curious to know if companies like Simpson or Rooney would do this.

I believe you can specify how firmly packed you want the bristles to be.

Alex,

Definitely consider different bristle types. I have a finest which I am very pleased with. Unfortunately, I do not have a silvertip to compare, or a pure (waiting to hear reviews on that). I believe the finest has firmer bristle than the silvertip, and I have found it an excellent combination of not floppy and at the same time soft. (I am on a quest for a more scrubby brush as well, but that's another thing altogether).

Also, as Rik mentioned, Bernd indicated to me that he could do an extra dense pack for more firmness, at least in the larger sizes (don't know how large your handle is).

Hey Shane, I have a silvertip, and I should be getting a 23mm in pure, and a 23mm in finest should be arriving any day now. I will post some pic's etc.
Cheers, DJ.
