Reapplying aftershave

I have been tempted to reapply my aftershave long after the scent has vanquished. After lunch while I'm at work I have a habit of brushing my teeth, washing my face and reapplying my aftershave. I feel that helps me mentally prepare for the second half of my work day. I work in a highly social job and I like to look and smell my best at all times.

My question is. Would applying aftershave more than once a day harm my skin in any way due to the alcohol?

Who else does this?

If I have a little dry skin or leftover irritation I'll reapply an ASB later in the day. Or if I just want to smell like one of my favorites I'll put a little bit on. I haven't seen any negative effects.

I usually shave at night after I get home from work, so the scent of my aftershave has long since disappeared when I return to work. Often times, I will give my face a good splash with some witch hazel and follow it with another dose of the same aftershave I put on after I shaved. So far, I've not seen any over drying of my skin, or any other ill results. I say apply as needed, the worst that could happen is a co-worker complains about the amount of scent! :001_smile

Be sure that you are not so accustomed to the scent that you are overdoing it. (Think of some women who overdose their perfume without being aware of it). The general public is not crying out for your scent. Maybe ask a close friend for their opinion before re-dosing. Once I had applied far more AS than I was aware of and a pal gave me a heads up.

It seems that a lot of people here don't realize that your sense of smell can adjust it's "baseline". In other words, if you can't smell your aftershave it doesn't mean that others can't smell it.

I once worked in a lab where there was one woman whose cologne you could smell in the halls 10 minutes later or worse. You definitely don't want to be that person in your office.
