RE: Melting VDH glycerine soap

I did a post earlier about melting VDH glycerine soap. Got some great responses so today I chopped up 2 pucks into the mug I stole from my daughter. Nuked it at 10second intervals stiring between each. Came out perfect. Its cooling right now and will try it on tomorrows shave. Will this technique also work with Col. Conks glycerin soaps?

Needs milk and a bidet!
i popped my VDH out of the plastic container and it almost fit perfectly in this ceramic dish i got from walmart for about a buck. bout 20 sec in the micro and it was liquid. put it in the fridge for bout an hr to harden up and used it the next day.

2 questions i have tho.

1. many soaps are available without a bowl or container, as long as they are glycerine based are they save to microwave?

2. should i worry about the scent going away, or chemicals separating?

3. if so i'll likely purchase my own bowls for the soaps i buy and melt them in to the bowl...good idea or not?

ok i had 3 questions.

Yes, melt 'n pour ("glycerine-based") are safe to microwave. Do it in short bursts so you don't heat the soap too much because some fragrances have low flash points and will vanish if you heat the soap too much. For your third question... whatever floats your boat, man!
