RazoRocktober Find: A Review of Baby Blue

I had a few RazoRock products and so when I saw there was a thread challenging people to use a RazoRock product for an entire month, called RazoRocktober, I though what the heck - let's give 'er a go.

While participating I heard that Joe decided to reduce the price of an aftershave called Baby Blue. I must admit I am a bit of an all around AD person right now, so I immediately made some purchases.

Here is my review of RazoRock's Baby Blue:

This product was delivered quite well - wrapped in enough bubble wrap to protect a small chachki from a baby thinking it's a bouncy ball. It also had some kind of plug in the hole so that it wouldn't leak during shipment. Great shipping practices!!

I also purchased the floid atomizer that works with this bottle. The bottle, by the way, is a large 400ml GLASS bottle. I love having the glass bottle, as I would like to move all my a/s to glass bottles instead of the plastic bottles they come in now. The atomizer worked flawlessly with the bottle. It truly is a fantastic bottle.

I have been using the aftershave for the past week or so. I think it smells pretty darn good!! :thumbup1: I am very bad at describing scents, but I will give it my best shot.

To me the smell has a pretty strong baby powder type smell - especially when you first put it on. It does seem to quickly dissipate into a citrus smell with a baby powder background - see I told you I am not good at describing scents.

I have oily skin, so I am always torn over weather to use an aftershave with some kind of moisturizer, or even an after shave balm. I found that the aftershave dried down and didn't leave my skin all greasy or tacky. This was a huge score for me. The scent doesn't have a super long staying power, like clubman, but it does stay around for a while, which again for me was a nice bonus.

All-in-all, I have been pleasantly surprised with the RazoRock Baby Blue aftershave. Moreover, the price of $19.99, for 400ml, puts this aftershave as a huge bargain in my book.

Thanks for the review. I've been curious about this one for a while. Like I mentioned in another thread...... Joe at IB has been making it very obvious to me that an order to IB is long overdue.

I just hope his amazing price holds till after Sabbatical!!!

Thanks for a great review, Rob!

I was hoping to so too, but managed to pick up a bottle last week in trade.

Smells strong out of the bottle, like AV on steroids. As stated above and with most AS, I'm sure it will go on fine and die down to a tamed down scent.

bottle is top notch, glass and no plastic opening. Mine came bubble wrapped, but still managed to loose a bit during transport which made the bubble wrap smell nice! no fault of Joseph, these things just happen in transport and it was well protected and wrapped and all precautions were taken during shipment.

It sits beside my Floid blue and will hopefully get some use shortly.

for $20/400ml, it's a steal to buy. again, mine was traded for but I would have paid that much for it and was looking to add to my New Years IB order if it didn't pan out.

I received my bottle today. The bottle looks identical to the Proraso 400ml glass. Very classy. Its a very clean fragrence. Its starts strong but quickly fade But it sticks around in a subtle way. There is the initial tingle from the aftershave but it does not LINGER long after like an Osage Rub, Proraso Green, or Krampert's Frostbite, but the funny and very cool thing is (yes pun I know) is that the fragrence itself is cool. Not in a menthol, medicinal way but I would associate the fragrance with cool/breeze/chill. This wouldn't be my go to bottle for Woosh factor # 9, Skin Bracer on full Arrrgh!. I'd call this my splash it and forget about it, then remember it because it smells so good and thank it for not smelling too Strong or burning too long. It call it a modern fragrence and not a nostalgia one. I like it.

I totally get what you're saying. I think I'm gonna dig it!

I have a bottle and have been using it quite regular, I find the scent mild, but its smells good enough that I wish it was stronger and lasts longer. Has that nice clean powdery smell with some sweetness,
Contains glycerin and some castor oil so it has a good feel but not greasy

I like it,

One more thing, nice glass bottle, pours just right, doesn't dribble all over, drips out just right

After using this for a while now, it does start out strong but dries down quickly. It has a nice soft scent that doesn't seem to stick around too long, but then every once in a while I'll catch a whiff.

I bought the atomizer, so wasn't sure how it would pour out. Glad to know it works well that way too.

The fact that we get 400 ml for $20 is just fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone.

I couldn't resist any longer and also ordered a bottle. It's just too good of a deal to pass up right now.

I picked up a bottle of it at the new local shop in Pasadena, Old Town Shaving Company. I've really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it as well. Joe's products with Razorock are always great.

I wasn't sure if I'd like the atomizer. I kind of like having splashed into my hands, having it run all down my arms. Although, I will tell you that an atomizer is kind of nice. I can also see how it makes this even more economical, as you get just the right amount of A/S where it's supposed to go.

I love soft Italian soaps, and RazoRock is at the top of my list. After enjoying Joe's aftershave waxes and balms, I decided to give Baby Blue a try when it went on sale, and have been using it several times a week during RazoRoctober. I find the scent rather enjoyable, and it does for my skin what I want from an aftershave. It's a great product that I plan to keep using, even after the sale ends.

Used mine for the first time today, and well, I love the stuff. I am holding out hope it gets a companion cologne, would love a stronger long lasting version.

I got my bottle of Baby Blue a few months ago at full price and I still don't feel "cheated" by the sale. It's a great AS and good value at full price (great value at the sale price). I use it once or twice a week with a Floid atomizer.

I would say it is a mix of citrus and powder. Overall smells quite nice and very manly. An excellent product for the price.
