I was pleasantly surprised by the soap fragrance myself also. Nothing wrong with the soap, nice scent with excellent lather qualities.
The RR M.F splash is excellent also, it has some scent lasting power that stays parallel through out the day also and is similar to the soap fragrance if not identical.

It's also one of the better RR performers.
So, some RR scents have better performance than others? I'm not disputing disputing this. More like asking for confirmation. If that's true then that's kinda annoying since there seems to be no advertised information about the soap base for each scent.

Well, in the case of Mudder Focker, it contains Fuller's Earth as an ingredient ( the 'mud' in the name ). I don't think he has one standard base.

Yes, i think RR has a few soap lines that perform differently and are made by different artisans. The packaging and branding distinguish them.

I used and enjoyed one of the initial (limited) batch of MF, and am now starting my second, which seems to have joined the mainstream lineup. My first shave on it last night with an AP Shaveco G5C was very thin lather, but actually a great slick shave. Next shave, I am going to get out a boar and do some heavy loading.

I bought some on a R.R sale and read the reviews before purchase + I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised! It is one of many favorites in the Razorock line up of excellent soaps & splashes. The name does not thrill me but I just call it M.F and now I just enjoy it .
The cologne type of linear scent that has some staying strength and does not offend to may folks either works for myself.

Love the scent of this soap. It is earthy yet has a cologne like quality making it much different from the typical Vetiver that many artisans offer.

As for performance, it is acceptable but not what I would consider top tier by any means. It does lather quickly and without issues so no complaints as far as lathering is concerned.

I shaved with my tub of Mudder Focker for the first time yesterday. Details via the link below.

Overall this was a great performing soap and the only one of my five soft Italian soaps (four from Razorock) that differentiated itself with better core shaving performance thanks to slicker lather. Post shave feel was also smoother. Agree that the scent is pleasant though it is really faint in the lather itself.
