Razorock Game Changer vs. Lupo

Do you use either of these two DE razors? If you use both, or used both, what is the difference, except for Lupo costing more .....and what number Plate do you use? I have the GC .84 and luv it. Thinking I might need another razor to alternate with it.

Why do you need to alternate? I would get it if like me you talking Shoes, as I have two identical pair, except color.

My Feet sweat, I have remnant of Jungle Rot on both feet, I put Shoe horn after one day use to keep shape, and let dry fully for two days forward use.

I have a Game Changer .84 and its DSCosmetic S9 clone and a Lupo .95 OC, a DSCosmetic Vostok Duo 1.05 and had a Lupo DC, which is .95 SB and .72 OC.

Both are based on Wolfman Guerilla and WR1, respectively.

@m949 recently used the "Lupo/Vostok" and liked it a lot, but he also likes the Game Changer equivalents from DSCosmetic a lot.

In a nutshell, the Lupo and related clones are a bit more efficient and steeper shaving. The Game Changer line has less blade feel and is not quite as efficient.

Edit 1: And yeah, I like them both. A lot. :)
Edit 2: I very much prefer the OC for the Lupos.

As is stated above. GameChanger line is a bit less efficient but has less blade feel. The Lupo line is more blade forward and has more blade feel so don't be fooled by the smaller gaps on the Lupo line. For example the Lupo 58 is more efficient than the GameChanger 68, the Lupo 72 is more efficient than the GameChanger 84 and so on. This is due to the larger blade exposure.

In my opinion they are both great razor lines, it just depends on the individual and how much blade feel and efficiency one is looking for.

I have a Gamechanger .84 and a .68 and a Lupo .95
I use the first two the most, but I've moved much more to the .68 since blood thinners. They all shave well, but I also prefer the look of the GC.

I have the GC .68P, 76P, and 84P. I also recently picked up the Lupo 58 for something different.

I've been using my .68P a lot and I've really come to appreciate how smooth and comfortable it is. It's not as efficient as the 76 or 84p in the first pass, but I'm at the point where at the end of the shave I can't really tell the difference in terms of the overall result. I typically need to do a bit of clean up regardless of the plate that I'm using. I don't get alum bar feed back or any AS sting when I use the 68P regardless of an extra cleanup pass in my trouble spots.

I've only got about a half dozen shaves under my belt with the Lupo 58 so I'm still working out the bugs with my technique. I can say that the Lupo has more blade feel than the 68 and maybe even more than the .76P. I certainly don't find it as comfortable as the 68P. I do get a closer shave with the 58 when compared to the GC line though that tends to come with a fair amount more irritation and sting comparitively. I would chalk that up to my technique and the fact that I'm still searching for 'the blade' for this razor. I'm hoping that I'll get it sorted sooner rather than later.

The only other difference I can think of at the moment is that I find the GC line works great at a neutral angle, where the lupo tends to work better shallow.

If you already love the GC .84 then I think it’s worth trying out the Lupo as well. There’s a very low risk of you absolutely hating it, and the investment isn’t too steep as you’ll really only need the top cap and the base plate(s).

As of today I like the Lupo .72 and GC .84 about equally and am getting close to the same ending shave results with the two. They do feel different, GC feels overall just a tad smoother overall and the Lupo has more blade feel, but I just really like them both.

If you had to buy just one Lupo base plate, I would recommend going with either the .58 or .95 so you can get more variety vs the GC .84. Either would be a noticeable step down or up in efficiency depending on what you’re looking for.
