Rate the SS black Tip.

Recently bought a SS with the black tip handle. How would the shave be rated? Is more aggressive the the red tip etc.

Less aggressive than a Red Tip Superspeed, More aggressive than a Blue Tip Superspeed, and about the same as a Black handle Superspeed, although I must say that the 40's style overall shaves better than the Black handle any day of the week.

The 40's style superspeed razors shave better than any other SS in my opinion

The black tip was the last of the 40's SS, a birth year razor, for me just about as mild as the 50's style, so it mostly stays in the box ..

My black tip is a pretty mild shaver, but is very smooth, so it's my go-to "gotta get out the door and am shaving in the shower with shampoo on my face" razor.

Despite the plastic tip, it's beautifully made and works flawlessly.

I think the Black Tip Super Speed is very under rated. I get some of the best shaves from it loaded with Astra Superior. I am kind of hung up on the New Standard, Tuckaway, and the HD Rocket though.

And get the all steel handle not the aluminum, on the steel the knurling goes all the way up and does not have a smooth ring a top of handle. I pretty sure I am correct on this.
