R.I.P. GFT Sandalwood

Once upon a time, you were an incredible fragrance, full of sensuality. You had a heart bursting with vanilla and amber and a lovely silent constant flatulence (aka silage) of your lovely odor as it would evolve on my skin for hours on end, but you have since died and have come back as a zombie imposter of a much weaker quality, faintly smelling like cinnamon chewing gum. You will be missed. xoxo Faux Pax

That was a hint, Trumpers has reformulated the Sandalwood fragrance by watering it down. It smells nothing like what it used to be, like the fragrance that I fell inl ove with enough to spend $65 on. Now I have to move on to GFT.

From my total experience with the fragrance. I've sampled it several times and fell in love with it before buying two bottles (and getting more samples from Trumpers) both bottles and the samples smelled much, different and weaker than the samples I tried two, three years earlier. I'm disappointed.

I have read many fragrance descriptions. However, this is the first time I have heard of a product having the scent characteristics of flatulence/silage. As such, probably not going to go with the GFT Sandalwood. Thanks FP for the heads (make that bottoms) up.

One possibility is the scarcity and skyrocketing price of sandalwood oil - assuming that they use real oil rather than a synthetic. If they use a syn. then there's no excuse because that stuff comes by the gallon and it's relatively very cheap.
