Questions about Vintage Blades and Soap/Cream

I recently purchased a late-50’s Gillette Fat Boy and I had wanted to purchase a case and original pack of Gillette Blue Blades as well (with a vintage can of shaving cream or a vintage puck of soap) but will resort to finding some elsewhere online. Before I do, I had a few questions:

-Would it be safe to use blades that are 50 years old or would they be ineffective/would their performance actually be altered due to the age of them, causing me to cut my face badly?

-Same question as above for a vintage can of shaving cream or a vintage puck of soap. Would either be superior to the selections out there on the market today or not really? And would they alter my shaving experience at all? For example, would a vintage can of shaving cream or a vintage puck of soap actually be ineffective if they are old enough?

-What would be the best blade to use in a late-50's Fat Boy?

This is a good question. I'd think the blades if sealed would be OK, same for a puck, but I'd be worried that a can might be subject to the ingredients separating.

Depending on which vintage blades and how well they were/are preserved. Most will be fine to shave with, but you will have to determine that for yourself.
i would forego the canned cream and stick to the vintage soap if you really want. The modern soaps are much better in lather and scents, in my opinion, and i would not waste my time with the older soaps. However, YMMV. Good luck to you.
