Question on Savile Row, pure badger

According to a description on QED web site, it appears pure badger Savile Row knots aren't machine sheared; it says knots are formed by hand. Please, someone who have used the SR in pure badger, is this brush any prickly, and overly floppy ? Stiffness of the boar is what I am after, but want to stay away from a prickly feeling and radically dense knots.

I know, there are good boar hair knots everywhere, and I have them, and I use a good boar brush. Will the Savile Row in pure outran a good boar hair ?
I would have nothing against a low cost Tweezerman brush, but according to various reports here in B&B, the brush is champion in shedding. Few days ago Mantic recommended a brush in grey badger from Em's Place, but Emily will not ship to my address.

Please suggest any other good quality, proven pure badger brush whose knot is not machine trimmed, i.e. not prickly, if in your opinion Savile Row can't fulfill my expectations.

Thank you.

The only pure badger brush I've owned was a Rooney "Special" 3/1. It was very prickly but the density was just about right. I would also be interested in finding out if the Saville Row pure is prickly.

For several years I've enjoyed QED's Savile Row SR3122 in Silvertip. Although it is a 22mm, the vernier calipers measure a thicker knot at handle's top.
  • I have a Medium Best from Edwin Jagger and a Super from Vulfix (660S), both of which are fan shaped.
  • I want to have a spectrum of three brushes to cater for various beard-bristle length. ie Pure for longer whisker, Best for couple days growth, SilverTip (owned) for single day growth shaves.
  • I'm keen to learn from anyone on QED's Savile Row PURE and SUPER badger hair brushes.
  • I've scoured the internet and shaving forums for info, but have found nothing yet.
So thank you to any QED Savile Row Pure and/or Best owners. It would be nice too if they also had the silvertip, or experience with my Edwin Jagger and Vulfix, as I'm considering the QED Pure & Best to replace them.

cheers

Craig
