Question on Coticule Terms

For those of you who are scared to oil up their coti, I finished a razor the other day with a squirt of dish soap and water. Worked very nicely. I suspect you could get the same result doing your final strokes with lather.

what i started doing a while back is keeping a spray bottle of water mixed with tincture of green soap *(its a tattoo'ing thing... i love the smell of it.. if you have ever gotten a tattoo you'll know the smell) and i spray the stone with that while honing.... THEN i oil or diamond spray it and when i am done i spray the stone and wipe it off....

my stone has NO changes in it... not color... not feel.... nothing...

but legion is correct... soap will improve the edge... oil improves it more...

Green soap? When I got my ink he just spit on it and wiped it with a blood stained rag when it was seeping too much for him to see.
