Question on buffalo horn scales

I'm thinking about having Revisor put together a vintage blade on some buffolo horn scales.
The ones pictures in their catalogue are absolutely gorgeous but, as they rightfully state it's a natural product so appearance might differ.

I am wondering though if there's any risk of these scales being (semi-) see through? Because I don't like that at all.

I would just message them and discuss directly your concerns and wishes.

None of the Revisors with horn scales that I have seen to date (a fair number, but a small percentage of what they have made) have been at all see-through.

Some are slightly translucent (backlight shines through) at the edges, but are thoroughly opaque through the body of the scale.

Guessing or assuming might lead to disappointment.
What happened yesterday might not be what happens today.
