I have two Shavemac DO1 2-band brushes with amazing backbone but tips that are not as soft as other 2-bands. I'm considering trying the DO1 silvertip. Does it have as much backbone as the DO1 2-band but with softer tips?

I don't know but I have a DO1 3 band knot arriving any day now.
i want to say yes but i can't say for sure. i own both but one is in fan (3-band) and the other is in flat-top (2 band). because they're different they will behave differently. i say the backbone is pretty equal for both (they are both the same size knot and approximately the same size loft. the 3-band is definitely softer.
