I was looking at this men-U brush at ULTA but I'm unsure of what type of bristles they are. It says its a Barbiere Pure Bristle. Is this a synthetic or Boar hair?

Pure bristles are boar.
If the performance is anything like their synthetic brush I would say go for it.

To be fair its the only brush I've ever used BUT - I always get a good lather and enough for 4 good passes with mine. Not as soft as I imagine badger to be but still feels nice.

Nice brush...
Not as soft as my Badger finest, but a lot nicer than my Virtual Village "Silvertip".
My first and favourite brush when you want that "scrubby" ( not prickly ) lather.....

Boar as indicated. It's a good brush but I found it to be loosing a lot of hair over time... If I compare to my silvertip that only lost 1 hair in the past 2 weeks vs Men-U one every shave! 
Got one today and used it about 1 hour ago with some palmolive shave stick & penhaligon opus shaving cream. Had a very good shave.
The stand is cheap & cheerful, but does its job fine. I haven't used the small cream sample yet.
I love the way its hairs are tightly packed, very dense.
I assume it "blooms" much more over time?
