I don't know if I can resist... So far I only have two shavemacs. I had not planned on getting another German brush until I had sampled the some of the prime brushes from other countries. Unfotunately for that plan, this looks like the combination of a quality item with a good deal - my nemesis! I think I'll tell my wife about this immediately. At this point, her badgering could be the only thing that will prevent me from ordering this badger.

Turtle, do you have any experience with the Vie Long silvertips. I was considering a Vie Long 16510 (50mm loft), but the daVinci 293 for ~$82.00 is very tempting. I exclusively face lather, and I'm concerned that the daVinci's loft might be too high and floppy. Also, Greg Daniels advised me that daVinci 297, the wenge-wood version of the 293), should be available in the next few weeks. My guess is that it will arrive just days after the sale ends.

'I can resist anything except temptation' (Oscar Wilde I think). Has anyone had any experience with the travel brush, which is the one I could possibly justify? How well does it work as a brush, of course, but also how well ventilated is it (it's impossible to tell from the stock picture)?

It will but if you're after a bowl lathering brush the 290 is very hard to beat. I would go with that one.

Thanks. Understood, but I'm not a big fan of the handle shape. Looks like it would be hard to get a grip on.

Don't get me wrong, the 293 is an awesome brush. I have one and love it. I just think the 290 is a bit better suited for bowl lathering. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 293 though. It will handle anything you throw at it. Either way you shouldn't be disappointed.

Ordered the 293 because I facelather. If I enjoy it, the 290 will be ordered before the sale is over.

Not only was my order filled quickly but I had a very pleasant back and forth email conversation with the owner of the company.

Very impressed as they are mainly a makeup brush supplier. Very glad they decided to carry the shaving brushes too.

Now...a Greek using a German-made brush from Turkish badger hair...even I'm curious to see how this goes (hope my visiting privileges don't get revoked)!

I have been sitting on an impulse to try these brushes since Turtle's fabulous reviews. And you just can't ignore that much of a discount.

I'm the opposite of ayodh. Ordered the 290 today because I bowl lather. If it's as fantastic as I hope it is, and there is still stock left, I'll order the 293 as well before the sale ends.
