Pre Shave Oil Vs. Pre Shave Cream

I have searched the forum and cant to seem to find a answer, or if there is please direct me there. What is the difference between the two? I currently use the oil but was wondering how the cream worked out. Also does the cream affect the lather? Any and all info helps. Thanks

Agree, and will add that neither helps in shaving while oil can make things worse since it may inhibit hydration.
