Pre de Provence

I happened upon Pre de Provence Shave Cream while canvassing the local natural food stores for old stock Tom's cream.

I tried it this morning, and it was bad. Burt's Bees Bay Rum bad. I used an almond-sized dollop and got lather not unlike the bubbles that build on top of dishwashing soap. Thinking I hadn't shook enough water from my brush, I added another almond-worth of cream. No improvement.

I didn't see it in the reviews section so I can't gauge my experience against anyone else's. Do/have you used this cream? Is it hopeless, or did I just mess up?

I haven't tried the soap or cream, but their A/S Balm has an amazing herbal/sage/rosemary scent and works great for cutting razor burn. Leaves my face feeling cool and refreshed. I find myself slapping some on just for the great smell.

The cream left much to be desired. I had a similar experience as you did falkor. Please don't judge the soap based on the cream though. It's a great soap. It is a nice shave when you team it up with the aftershave balm. I had a similar experience with L'Occitane CADE shave cream. Another great soap, the cream can stay on the shelf.

I'll be honest though. I didn't give the PdP cream soap too much time. I spent about 3 days with it. I figured if I didn't like the 3 days of it, I could move on. Plenty of other soaps and creams that make my mornings start off great.

I concur with the soap and asb. Both are excellent products that I look foward to using. Never tried the cream. I like the soap so much I don't figure that I'll look to try it - one of those if it's not broke sort of things.

I bought a tube of cream a few weeks ago. I've only used it once. I got an okay shave but the lather seemed to lack a lot in both cushion and slickness. I may just mix it with my unscented KMF to use it up.
