Portugal Shaving Cream Spree

Hi folks
I am going to buy all these as this will be my first time trying them all

In Musgo Real, any recommendation on what scent/flavor to go for?(i am confused...any of that has strong scent)..I am capable to handle Arko and Godrej strong smells...but dont really fancy Sandalwood based....

Also, anything I should not buy for not so great performance?

1x Lavanda Shaving Cream - Ach Brito - 100g

1x Musgo Real Shaving Cream - Classic - Claus Porto - 100ml
1x Top Secret Shaving Cream - Confiança - 125g
1x Veleiro Shaving Cream - Confiança - 125ml
1x O MELHOR Shaving Cream - Confiança - 100ml

Thank you!!

I have just got the Musgo Oak Moss and have used it three times so far.
It's nice enough but smells of a nice bar of soap to me, light and clean if that makes sense.
Once this tube is done I'm just going to stick to T&H and Trumpers.
I will get some Prorasso blue just to try that at some point but can't justify the expense at the moment.

Top Secret is really good stuff! Smells pleasantly soapy. I have also tried musgo classic and liked it as well.

Might I suggest picking up a tube of 444 aftershave balm with your order? It's great stuff on its own or mixed with you favourite splash. Doesn't really have much of a scent, but has some nice skin care and adds a dash of menthol.

Hard to go wrong with that list of creams. If I had to cut one, it would be Musgo Real. The performance was okay, just not great.

Those are all good ,you can't go wrong with any of them.If you run into Goldex or Estoril ,both Portuguese economy creams, they are very nice as well, and come in huge tubes.

I am constantly amazed at the variety of products you are familiar with, just about all the time something I had never heard of before.

total weight above 431g and that is almost eur18 for shipping frm theportugalonlineshop :-(

Thanks John !...Probably due to the fact I've had more time to experiment ,according to the age polls on the forum ,I am one of the "old senior shavers" :wink2:

I've tried Lavanda by Ach. Brito, Musgo real Classic and Orange and Amber and the last one on your list, O Melhor. I don't know the others. If you are still considering saving come money on the postage, you might want to decide not to buy O Melhor. It's not bad, far from it, but it's nothing special IMHO. I still have it and use it occasionally. Orange and Amber has a very nice scent combination though.

I cant even buy 3 boxes...it comes up as 435g....grrrrr......and cost the same eur 18..
nearing to lose sanity by getting into acquisition disorder(ad) and buy all perhaps?? eur18 postage covers up to 1 kg....

on other side, i am eyeing whipped dog brushes as well....seeing a lot of good reviews that doesnt cost a bomb....

I agree. O Melhor means "The Best" wich is not the case, in my opinion, both in terms of performance and scent. I paid twice the price of Musgo Real or Lavanda when it, considering its quality, should be cheaper.

Different of what other users said, I think MUSGO REAL has excellent performance. Nice lather, not super abundant, but this cream really treats my skin like no other.

Ach Brito Lavanda shaving cream appears to be the same cream with a different scent if you prefer.

I am a fan of the Portuguese creams. For one, they are still made in metal tubes (a big plus especially when considering the English creams used to be like this).

Off of your list I have tried the:

Lavanda (old version)
Musgo Real (old regular version in the white tube, and the new versions of Oak Moss and Lime Basil)
Top Secret

They were all good creams, except for the Lavanda. And it wasn't that it wasn't a good cream, it was that you had to use a quarter of the tube for it to become a good cream. I understand that this is not the case for the "new" version.

The Top Secret however, is one that I will always have in my den because I LOVE the soapy rosey scent.
