Pomade PIF!

Updated with a list of pomades!

During my seemingly never ending search for the perfect pomade, I have acquired a stockpile of pomades that I do not use. Some of these came from a Pomade PIF several months back. I am now ready to release these unused pomades back into the wild! I will post a list of the ones being PIFed in the next day or so. There are several water based Pomades and even more petroleum based pomades. The one I ended up liking the most is Rumble59-Schmiere Pomade Hart, which is the one I now use daily.

There are light and hard pomades in this PIF. The lighter ones have less hold and tend to have more shine. They work best for slicked back looks. The harder pomades tend to be less shiny and have a firmer hold. These tend to work better for pomps, spikes and bed-head hair.

If you are interested in trying a bunch of different pomades, just respond to this post. For fun, you can let me know what type of hair style you are trying to accomplish!

I am limiting this to the continental United States for my convenience of shipping, and I will be shipping via USPS. I would prefer that you be new to pomades and are still looking for the perfect one like I was when I won the PIF before.

I will announce the winner on Friday, October 4.

Here is a list of the pomades:
  • Schmiere Weich (light)
  • Schmiere Hart (hard)
  • Dax Super-neat hair creme
  • Dax Washable hair wax
  • Dax Wave and Groom
  • Royal Crown hair dressing
  • Grant's Golden Pomade-medium
  • **** Grease XX
  • Murry's Superior
  • Retro Vinyl
  • Groom and Clean

Note: All of these have been used, but they were all used after showering with clean hands.

Ive been looking to try some out! I'm in... some days slicked back some days pompadour. Most days it is all under a hat but I'm starting school in the spring so I'll get more opportunity then!

I'm in. I always go for the rigid non-windblown look. At my work I'm actually known for my mane, and the stash! I am always continuing to search for the perfect hair shell that will be impenetrable by mother nature.

I'm in! I've really enjoyed Garnier's pomade for 5 years or so, and it's the only one I've tried. But I'm looking to find something else that will give me a good dry look but will still hold.

THis is awesome, I would love to try water based, I am currently wearing my hair in a side part with disconnected sides after having worn my hair short for a long time. I have been hunting for hold without drying my hair out as I have thick wavy hair. Would try whatever.

I'm in! I've been sporting a high and tight for the last seven years so now I'm trying to grow it out a little to sport a side part/comb over style.

I'd like to be considered. I've been trying out some different ones lately.... trying to find what works for me. I like the harder, heavier holding ones best I think. I like a little shine, but not always.

I would definitely like to try some pomades!

lately I've been parting my hair on the left with a very conservative pompadour. i just got my hair cut and it is still too short for anything taller.

Lol, I'm totally in. I have never used pomade myself but my father used it for as long as I can remember. I'd try to re-create his look :)

I'm in. I just spike my hair most of the time, but every time I find a hair product I like it gets discontinued. *sigh* I'm hoping to find something that's not too greasy or too sticky, and that doesn't have too overwhelming a scent.

I'm in, I usually use Brylcreem, but I am getting tired of buying pillows. My hair is best described as, "long enough to comb, but short enough to keep the bad guys from getting a grip." High and tight with just a tiny bit of flip in the front.

I'm in!

This is an awesome way to try out some new pomades. For a little while I was using american crew(because I bought some quite a while ago and never used it), but found that it had more shine than hold. I got suavecito, and have yet to look back. I'm always open to try new things though.

The hairstyle I'm going for is something inbetween a pomp and a side part. I Part my hair on the right side, comb left across the top of my head, then comb the front straight back and a little to the left, then with my hands brush a few strands back onto my forehead.

Not sure how to explain it, other then giving you my procedure! Thanks for the awesome PIF

I'm in, thanks!

I've never tried a true pomade, so this would be great. I currently have a short side-part, so I'd probably be a bit limited in my style at the moment, but if I grow it longer I could go for a Lucky Luciano type cut as I have pretty wavy hair.
