At its price point for me, it is a great shaving all brass razor with a finicky personality. Kind of like the Fiat of razors, durable but can be hit or miss quirky. Even with any minor plating or mechanical issues, I really love my Fatips.

It is a low risk low cost proposition to try one especially if you shop the BST (/wink).

I have owned several Fatip razors, and while I did find it annoying to align the blade properly, that wasn't a big issue for me. For some reason, even though I felt like they were comfortable shaves with excellent results, I would inevitably wind up with a shaving irritation on my neck. I'm inclined to believe that the problem was me and not the razor, but I found other razors that work better for me. So I would encourage anyone who is not put off by having to manually align the blade to give Fatip razors a try. Some day I'll probably buy yet another Fatip myself to see if I can finally figure out how to use it.

Between QC and alignment issues never tried them. There’s too many good alternatives on the market today to take the gamble on these.

I have two Fatips. Both open combs. The same head. Both plated in Nickel (I LOVE Nickel).

One has the Grande handle. The other is a Piccolo.

Neither has alignment issues.

I have grown surprisingly attached to these razors. They speak to the romantic in me.

Treasured far beyond what I paid for them.

I use my FOCS exclusively. I put the blade in, check it. Sometimes I move it around a bit, sometimes not.
I don’t sweat the small stuff because it gives me a consistent great shave.
Which is really saying something since I can’t see, am in a hurry, shave only every 4 days, and my head once a week.
Smooth, efficient, no blood or irritation.
Like Magic.
I never use my other razors; I’ve got all 4 Gamechangers and a Rockwell 6S.
At $40.00 I’ve given several as gifts to guys with no de razor experience with the only instruction “use no pressure, don’t press down, go lightly” and check that the blade is even.
They love the razor.

Live dangerously, bro. $40.00 is not much of a gamble for a FOCS, and who knows you may be smitten. Comes with a free pack of blades from Connaught Shaving
If not, gift it out.

Pre-2017 is the V1 head for Fatip razors. Anything after that is the V2 razor. Anyone know the difference? Also, is there any difference in quality between varieties of this razor?

I had a Fatip Piccolo razor. I tried to make friends with her. But every time I shaved, I got cuts and irritation. And I had to give it to one participant of the Russian forum. I hope he won't have any problems with this razor.

Got a Grande last year and a Lo Storto a few months back, both Testina Originale (open comb).

I like them. Sometimes the blade doesn't drop straight onto perfect alignment, but there's an argument I should be checking that every time on every razor, adjusting as required, and not taking it for granted.

Fiat price, Alfa Romeo appeal. Durability has been good so far. I've heard the black chrome is the one that suffers most (I have the nickel and gold).

I've abstained from the poll as there wasn't a box for all that.

I have had 5 Fatips pass through my hands. On one of them, the blade retention posts were wonky and it was impossible to get an even blade exposure on both sides. It was returned and replaced.

I also have a Mk1 Grande in the Gunmetal finish, which has now been worn down to plain chrome over most of the razor through use, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest - it looks cool and shaves great.

The others have all been fine. They just need checking and the very ocassional bit of finagling when loading a new blade, but most of the time there's no issues.

Edit: Some guys are saying they are the Fiat of razors...I think I would go with Alfa Romeo. Beautiful, great performance, but sometimes the build quality lets them down.
