Polarizing fragrances

I'm curious what you guys think of as the real love-'em-or'hate-'m colognes out there. The one's where there isn't much middle ground. Of the top of my head, based on the posts in this forum and on the cologne reviews, I woul name the following:

Knize Ten
Blenheim Bouquet
GFT Spanish Leather
Tabac

Any others? Do any of these not belong on the list? What do you think?

here are the "get outa here" scents in my house (and I really really like some of 'em, too):

Knize 10 (I'm wearing it today and got the "better stay away from me" look... I love it, sadly, and have a 125ml bottle...)

C&S #88 (sometimes this seems to be ok... one of my favorites)

4711 (nope, never - "smells like my [resoundingly despised] grandmother" - apparently the old bird carried around a little bottle for... sprinkling & dusting!)

Tabac, both ASB & edc "smell like old ladies" (these actually make my eyes water, too)

and - universally reviled [well, in my universe] - the "winner":

Pinaud Lilac Vegetal - (I have recorded my experiences with this "scent" elsewhere. I have to keep my shave den closed - if I don't the cat drags the bottle into her box & buries it.) I confess: I keep a bottle around.

Old Spice, whether the original Shulton formula or the current formula or the Vi Jon version, seems to evoke either "I'll love it and will always wear it" or "It smells like my Father/Grandfather, so I can't wear it" reactions.

I bought a bottle of this stuff based on reviews I saw on here.

I couldn't get that pinesol smelling stuff outta my house fast enough!
Blenheim Bouquet is basically lemon pine-sol with some pepper. It's one of the simplest, ridiculously overhyped fragrances ever, IMO. I don't get all the love for it personally. But as always, YMMV.

These are good lists. Lots of love and hate for Hammam Bouquet, too.

I agree re Angel. You do not hear much about it, but I find Versace Dreamer to be pretty weird.

What I love is the "Mmmm, what's that?" reaction, followed by the answer, followed by the "Can't be, I hate that stuff" reaction...sometimes verbal, sometimes just the look! :001_rolle
