the manufacturer lists a sz 18 horn in HMW for 467 euros (610 USd) and a 20 for 590 (770 USD).

seems about right if's one of those sizes.
a matter of perceived value? i'd rather have 1 of those than 6 $100 brushes. or 30 $20 boars

Ah, Plisson. Nice looking but super pricy. I read somewhere that Vie Long's silvertips (at one time...not sure if they do any longer) came from the same supplier. So you could get HMW hair at 1/5 the price.
I just bought the WSP "monarch" which has the same HMW grade hair for under $100. That's the best price I have seen for that grade badger hair
Is the wsp really same grade as plisson? Great deal if it is
From what is listed on their website it is from a HMW sorce. The price is going up a lot, when I bought mine only 10 remained....
