PJ 2 in Two Band

My journey into 2 band Simpsons continues with the PJ 2. Arrived in line with specs (23/50mm), very comfortable handle and overall knot size. Below next to the E3. Compared to the E3 it has about the same knot size but a shorter loft that makes it even more prone for face lathering. Density is about the same, i.e. less than D3 or 58 but allowing great flow through...

This is definitely a keeper. While it shed quite some hairs in the first uses I am hopeful this will subside soon (so far I did never encounter a shedder...).

All of the now 5 Two Bands that I got show the same very soft but resilient hair. Clearly the current batch of Simpson 2 band is comparable in softness and characteristics to the Thäter 2 bands that so far have been my benchmark.

Importantly, the 2 band Simpson hair is noticeably softer than the 3 band Super brushes I also own (GYLE, D3) and less dense. Thus, giving lather up easy.

No doubt that Simpson 2 band is the way to go!!! YMMV

I've really been enjoying my 2-band Tulip1 and like you said, it's very resilient and soft. However, it chews up hard soaps with ease but is plenty soft with nice backbone. I can scrub and paint on lather with joy!

I really like the handle shape of my PJ1, but I like the knot size of my Commodore X2 better....I thought I was just getting a handle on things and now I'm looking for a PJ2 in two-band....
