Pinuad Clubman feel and the rest of the lineup

I used Pinaud Clubman this morning, but I noticed how soft or smooth it makes my face feel. Do all the Pinaud products do this? Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I use most of the Pinaud line and find they do make my face smooth, they also smell great. They aren't in the same category as Speick AS when it comes to skin care but the scents are much better. YMMV

Yes, I have noticed this. Almost a soft "dry" talc kind of feel. The Bay Rum does this for me too... Special reserve may as well, Ill try it tomorrow.

You're a proud member (along with anyone using Clubman products), of the fictional, sacred and utopian Order of Pinaud (a.k.a.'The Club')".

I will now administer (written by our scribe, member Mario [a.k.a. Gatsby]), the Order of Pinaud sacred Oath...please repeat after me;

"I do solemnly affirm that I will uphold my membership to the Order of Pinaud (a.k.a "The Club") through my loyalty to the fine A/S, my unwavering dedication to assist all wet shaving

enthusiasts, and to promote the iron-clad fellowship that is B & B.
I do swear this on my sword, my (name your razor), and, my lance, my (name your brush): my weapons of choice in smiting the daily scourge that is my stubble".

Membership accepted! Proud to be a part of The Club. I
live in Williamsport, PA so the Barber Supply is just down the street a bit, lots of good stuff from Big Ed! May try Lime or Veg next.

I get the same feeling as well. Clubman is quite possibly my favorite. I haven't tried the special reserve yet but it's on my list.

I find that interesting as the regular Pinaud doesn't have any sort of humectant in it. It is simply alcohol water and color, more like a cologne then aftershave.
I use it because I like the antiseptic qualities of alcohol aftershaves and I like the scent. But always have to follow up with a moisturizer, but I tend to have dry skin anyhoo.

Love The Club! Always makes me feel like I just walked out of the barbership. I have "ramped up" some of my AS splashes with a few drops of glycerine. In a separate bottle, add 1-2 drops of glycerine per ounce of the AS. I have done this with The Club and Bay Rum. I also have made up my own AS with a 50/50 mix of any aftershave and witch hazel with the same glycerine additive.

The type of alcohol used makes a big difference actually. In a decent aftershave the right type of alcohol actually retains moisture in your skin.

I do not doubt different denatured alcohol formulas do different things to the skin and by no means am I an aftershave expert. But, I am curious which type of alchohol helps retain moisture?

Pinaud has SD Alcohol 40 which is a mixture of Ethanol and Tert Butyl Alcohol with either Brucine or Quassin(Bittering agents) added. None of these help retain moisture.

I was also curious about the scents of the Pinaud Line up. I find that the regular and special reserve smell like they have the same base. Obviosuly, the reserve has the smokey and leather aspect to it. But do you find the underlying scent similar in the rest of the lineup, the veg excluded?
