Pinaud Lime Sec "cologne"

So I just started using Pinaud Lime Sec and overall I like it. It's definitely more of a summer AS. It's a little too candy smelling (reminds me of Lemonheads) but I'll keep using it because it still smells pleasant and isn't overwhelming.

Anyway, I'm confused because it's labeled as "eau de cologne". But this stuff fades extremely fast. I put a liberal sized splash on and the scent is almost gone in an hour. Clubman on the other hand as you all know lasts at least 3-4 hours and fades very slowly.

So logically wouldn't Clubman be more of a cologne than Lime Sec? Yet Clubman is labelled as an aftershave. I always thought colognes are stronger and hence last longer.

Or is there something special in it that makes it "cologne"?

Seriously... IMHO, Clubman and Bay Rum are indeed the longest lasting, but Citrus Musk, Lime Sec, and The Veg are all marked as colognes.
The one exception is Special Reserve... it too is a "cologne" and it seems to last on me.

The jury is out for me on Lime Sec. It smells great at first and then fades, but not to nothing, to a plasticy, burnt rubber, electrical fire smell.

I've only used Clubman and Lime Sec so I'll have to keep that in mind if I try the others.

I really love that initial lime hit from Lime Sec and thought about mixing it with some other things, but, so far, that burnt rubber smell has eventually overpowered anything else I've mixed with it.

Cologne vs. A/S is basically the amount of essential oils in the recipe. Colognes are more concentrated. But some EOs (like a lot of the citrus) fade very quickly. 4711 is the original cologne. Also citrus-based and very short lived.

I splashed lime sec on this morning around 5am and still lightly smelled it at 7pm tonight! It is my go to daily splash! Light and lasting for me! Love the stuff!!!!

I used some for the first time just now. Leave ths face feeling fresh and the lime blast is invigorating. It does as people say change after 30 mins to some kind of a lavenderish middle note. Not offensive though, more corner barbershop splash-like. Nothing fancy. I kinda like it ok though. It's nostalgic if nothing else. I can pair it with TOBS sandalwood without too much trouble and it blends over the Clubman to dominate.

It doesn't last, no. But if you splash on some almond oil as Lime Sec is drying, the loiter time is longer.

Smells like a fresh cut lime to me. Not long lasting, but longer than many citrus splashes. I have never smelled the burnt rubber odor, but I do get a little floral after a while. I do like citrus musk a little bit more.

I use Lime Sec either buy its self, or after a Bay Rum.

I have never found it to be "sweet", and never had any "burnt rubber smell" to it.

As with all shaving products, YMMV.

When I use Lime Sec I enjoy the burst of fresh lime scent. I find it a very refreshing AS/Cologne.
On me it will last about 5-6 hours.

A little poofier than I prefer
I like Lime Sec, but I like Citrus Musk even more. I can't tell the difference between Pinaud's "colognes" and "aftershaves". I mean, obviously they have different scents. But performance is pretty much similar to me. I've never tried the hair tonics, but I hear they're pretty interchangeable with aftershave too.

I just got the Lime SEC in yesterday and I love it. It's very refreshing to splash it on. It does not last long but I use it mainly as an aftershave to freshen up my face after scraping the razor blade across it. Works great.

I have splashed the Lime Sec over Captains Choice Co9, and it is very nice.

On a different note; I did look at the link from TheVez2 for Bootlegger. Very interesting site.

I mixed up the El Dorado AS (Special reserve, Vanilla, and English Leather). It toned down the smokiness of the SR. A very nice scent.
