Pinaud Clubman Aftershave - 1st time

Tried Pinaud Clubman and I highly recommend it to newbies. The searing PAIN after use (tried pushing a blade too far today and had multiple weepers) is a great incentive to improve technique. SWMBO loves the fragrance, I like it too. While the discomfort can be significant, the lasting effects greatly outweigh the temporary price. Looks like it is in my den for good.

oh there are PLENTY of aftershaves that will punish bad shaves just as much...
I find I like Clubman if I'm careful about not overdoing it. Unfortunately, I find it makes me itch.... though it solves one problem. If I accidentally overdo it AT ALL I can't stand the stuff. So overly careful isn't so much an issue, now.

I just used it for the first time, too. Boy-o they ain't kidding when they say barbershop, cause that's what I smell like this very moment.

Something's off from your shave if it's burning. I love the scent, but don't recollect getting any burn or heat from it.

All alcohol-based aftershaves will sting/burn if your shave produced any nicks, cuts, and/or irritation. What I've found to help lessen the effect is to shake up the aftershave in the bottle before applying, and to keep my hands moving quickly over my face and neck until the aftershave is good and rubbed in.

Clubman original is awesome. Clubman's Bay Rum is also excellent; it numbs my face like Osage Rub. Yes, "The Veg" takes some getting used to. I also don't like the smell, but it makes my face feel great after a shave. YMMV, of course.

I've enjoyed all of the Clubman scents I've tried so far. As far as the burn goes, that will disappear once a good technique is developed. Speaking for myself, I get a nice cooling sensation from Clubman when I splash it on.

I love Clubman... .My latest addition was what they refer to as "The Veg" around here ie. Vegetal Lilac... Its different let me say that much. The wife was quite fond of it, said it smelt like baby powder and daffodils... Not too sure myself..

However, I do love Pinaud Bay Rum, Classic and Lime. I wish I could get my hands on some Vanilla to try! Welcome to the Clubman!

If it's not a comfortable burn then say the safe word and stop. fyi.. If any of your nicks start to swell after applying the aftershave also stop. Though this is my first foray into de wet shaving I have used alot of other shaving junk in the Corps and don't have sensitive skin but as a rule tat I have always lived by, If I can't make it feel good it's not worth it.

I first smelled clubman and was not too sure (there happened to be a bottle at a drugstore that someone opened, so I figured I would just smell it as well). I put off buying it another month or two, and when I did purcahse it, I put it on after work when I got to my car! I loved it, and I smelled so good. It makes my face feel amazing, and it does not burn as much as SOME AS does, and when I have a good shave, I feel nothing.

Clubman is a must have for any man, IMO. Its a classic masculine scent, and its very affordable! I just need to find a vintage glass bottle to decant into...
