Pinaud Bay Rum

Picked up a bottle of Pinaud Bay Rum last week. My impressions:

Holy Cow, it burns I just thought Clubman had a bite to it.

Not only that, it smells like candy...

Yet, for some reason, I keep using it.

I think it smells like cloves. So much so I would say it is misslabled and should be called Clove. I agree on the burn.

Good stuff, but I still like the Masters better. Occasionally, I will do a bay rum "cocktail", mix the 2 together. The Masters seems to tone down the Pinaud.

If you like the bay rum and use a pre witch hazel try this, they go great together!

I like the "Bite" as a wake me up. Dominica, which has a richer BR scent IMO has a bit of a bite also but I mix in Citrocol (Lime cologne made in St Lucia) with it and it takes the bite out.

I too just got a bottle of the pinaud bay rum. I really like the scent after it settles. I agree initially all I get is cloves, but after 5-10 minutes its nice and subtle. I just wish it would last longer. I can smell pinaud clubman all day using half as much.

The clove is very strong at first, but after it settles down, it is a very nice warm smell. I also am very fond of the Masters Bay Rum.

I've been using it a week and agree...quite a burn and doesn't linger. Also agree that the clove scent goes away pretty quickly. Got it for a steal clearanced at Walgreens! I'll keep it around just 'cause it was so cheap.

I bought a large bottle of Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum on sale, the clove sent is overpowering. As far as the burn goes. no more than any other aftershave IMHO......but the cloves turn me off to this. I saving this for bartering along with my Derby Extra blades.

Yeah, I've found that the cloves in that formula is overpowering. I have posted a couple of times the incident that happened when I wore it to work and somebody in a crowd of people said, "(Sniff, sniff) What's that smell?" That was embarrassing.

I do think it has a heck of a burn and it does smell really spicy and like cloves. I wear it sometimes, but it's more of a winter scent for me.

I agree with the scent and it's affects, however I think it lasts perfectly long. So much in fact, I wish I didn't smell it on my shirts days after I use it. Well, that's not true, I like that it lasts. But that's my point, it lasts.

I know peoples' body chemistry may affect how it works on certain people, but the staying power of this is unquestionable. That is constant among users.
