I'm PIF'ing "services". Going to hone 3 peoples' blades. Send me 1,2...maybe 3? I don't know. Let's talk...Whatcha got?
very cool Rick!
I can't speak for his edges but I can speak for Doc's edges (WOW!!!!), and Doc wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it.... sooooo, if Doc says Rick puts a nice edge on a blade then Rick puts a nice edge on a blade!!
hope some of the new converts to the dark side take him up on this generous offer!

get one of the poormans strops or a rup razor strop. you will need one but you wont need a hone yet.I got a straight that was purchased off of BST. Thought at the time I was about to be able to splurge on strop and hone but was never able to. Love to have it shave ready to try it out.
no the dark side is to that evil stuff that some call film.
AKA the Devils Paper
and i can agree with the thing about Alfs edges being great. he sent me a Jnat finished GD and my goodnes its sharp.
good luch with the PIF Rick
LMAO
i meant the dark side of razors,. those recently starting with straights![]()
as for honign. I def see a use for film, especially for beginning honers... in fat I sort of wish i got a set to try it, instead I went eh natural route and took practicing every single night tog et a feel for it (and each stone is different to boot, as you wll know). but I got a GD from Alfredo that was film lapped and it was just TOO keen without the smoothness I prefer. also fortunate enough to have Jnat edges from him too. WOWOWOWOWOWOW! they are like buttah baby! Smooooth like Dolomite.
Anyhoo, not to hijack the thread... glad to see Rick's got a victi, errr, volunteer![]()

gotcha sorry Kirk, still picking up on the many B&B personalities and their sarcasm with the often lack of inflection in type
that said, agreed 110%!
nothing against film or those who love it.... it's just too keen and not smooth enough for me, tho I am sure if I used to frequently I'd adjust to it. g
Nice gesture Rick!
I'm going to have to hone something on film just to prove you wrong and that it IS smooth enough for you.
