You mean a more fiddly, unnecessary way to do a simple task?
(nothing wrong with eating with your finger, others watching may disagree.)

I've never thought to use my non-dominant hand to lather, and after all these decades, I see no reason to experiment; it would just feel weird

Lathered with my left hand today and it actually came out pretty good, although had quite a bit drip down my arm. It felt strange but pulled it off haha.
Weirdly enough I write left handed but brush my teeth (and grew up using a computer mouse) with my right hand, so my lathering is right hand dominant despite being a lefty. Attributing it to weird brain disorder. Probably why I shave as a hobby.
