What's new

Pen's Opus arrived...damn it smells good!

Chalk it up to old Penhaligons...my second (I have BB as well). I tried a sample and new I would love this stuff so I bought the full bottle from Jim.

It arrived with the brown cord vs. the bowtie for packaging...looks great and smells even better!

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a cedar/woody scent.

Most importantly, SWMBO loves it...so, double score!

I, too received a sample but haven't tried wearing it. I have given it a sniff, though and it smells like a cedar chest! I've tried the Castille which, to me, smells similar to NancyBoy's "Butch".

I enjoy the nice scents, but always feel I need my head examined after shelling out for them. Penhaligon's was a new "find" that followed viewing this forum. I love their stuff....but God the price!!

I'm just getting into the Penhaligon's scents now and I have to agree with you on the Opus - I love it!
I also like the BB, Endymion and EF.

Good stuff but difficult to collect due to the price...

I got some samples and just put on the Endymion today. It reminds of something......maybe Prada?

I think I'll have to pass on Opus; I'm allergic to cedar.:frown:

You should check if there is cedar in the Opus and maybe try a sample; there might not be actual 'cedar' in there; I suspect that a pleasant call to Penhaligon's explaining the situation would land you a free sample of Opus (and maybe a couple others??)

Old packaging Douro is 40% off at London's. Heck of a time to try that one on the cheap if you haven't already.

Got mine today. If they ever put "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in jail--the cell would smell like Douro.

Of course, they only discounted the 50ml size....so if you bought two the savings over a 100ml bottle is <$20. Its not inconsequential, but any savings on a Penhaligon's product looks rare.

I know what you mean. Spent $50 for my BB 50 ml (used) and $100 for my Opus (new) 100ml.

But, I know that these are now "my scents" for some time to come. I'll continue to buy wetshaving stuff (razors, brushes, soaps, creams, aftershave splashes, balms, milks, strops, str8s, etc etc) but for some reason...buying hundreds of colognes just doesn't do it for me. A couple of scents and I'm good.
