Has anyone ever shaved with this? The woman that has cut my hair ever since I have been 12(now 30) told me I should try it. She said with my pores that I should use a tee tree shave soap. So we me now DE shaving, I'm curious to hear if anyone has any opinions on this.
The general opinion here seems to be that regular bar soap isn't going to produce the same kind of protective lather as shaving soap. So while it's certainly possible to shave with regular bar soap, it's probably not going to be as comfortable.
You might want to look at the soaps made by some of the favorite B&B vendors, like Mystic Waters or Queen Charlotte Soaps, to see if they make any shaving soaps with tea tree oil.
Thanks for the info, however I wonder why they would put body and shave bar on the box if it was never really intended for shaving. Now on to find something that has tea tree oil in it.
Not sure about shaving with it, but Mike's Natural Soaps makes a really incredible Tea Tree shampoo bar that uses similar ingredients to the Paul Mitchell but assuredly all natural products. Mike's and Mama's also make great shaving products.
I'm sure it has been asked, but what is the difference in EO(essential oil) and FO(frangrance oil) in Mikes and lanolin and non-lanolin in the Shave Den Soaps?
Stirling Soap Co. also makes a tea-tree shave soap. I believe they are currently sold out, but with them, new batches always seem quick to come. Worth looking into.
Thanks for all the advice. I now just need to get me some tea tree soap and a good semogue brush to load these soaps with. Probably will go with the 820 or 620. I looked at stirling, but like you mentioned they were sold out. All so much great info, and such great options.
