Parker variant oc vs pearl flexi oc

Mostly i'm looking for an adjustable razor that does it all.
I've only ever had mild razors (like the henson al 13 mild and gillette king c)

I am leaning more towards the parker variant but am open to advice.

I have the closed comb version of both and like them both. The Flexi has the advantage of being machined brass, while I believe the head of the Variant is cast metal. The Variant is kind of a copy of the venerable Merkur Progress design. I'm not much help, unfortunately, as I really like both. They are both effective razors for me and they give different shave experiences.

I've used the Merkur Progress for years, and recently got a Flexi. Since the Parker Variant is essentially a Progress, with one of its flaws corrected, I expect that StewB is right:

. . . Either a Variant or a Flexi would be OK.

The Flexi is heavy, but its balance is good, and the handle has very good knurling.

I've been reading nice things about the Yaqi adjustables (available in several metals) -- the "TLC" is one of them. But I haven't used one. A review (and some comments):

You have choices . . .

I have the Variant oc, not the Flexi. The Variant oc is excellent. Smooth, efficient and safe to use. It's cagey open comb is extremely comfy. From what I have read I would rate the Pearl Flexi more aggressive. I read the teeth can be a bit pointy as well.

I have contemplated the purchase of the Flexi oc... But then I remember I really disliked the boring and rudimental aesthetic of the Sb flexi and keep my money in my pocket.

The Flexi is brass and will likely outlive the Variant.

The Yaqi ultima comes in brass and stainless steel. The stainless version is available in open comb, and it's more interesting to look at than the Flexi.
