Parker SRW Straight - decent or waste of $?

So let's say I wanted to mess around a little with a straight...just to see what it's like and if I might want to get more serious about it.

I can get a Parker SRW with 120 Shark blades for less than $30 including shipping on ebay.

Is this a decent razor? Would it be good to start with?

Thanks.

I'm a newbie to straight razor shaving. I tried the Shavette about 9 years ago, but was unaware of the angle of the blade, stretching the skin. I looked like I was attacked by a cat! I stopped and resumed late fall of last year. I know a person who manages a Senior citizen complex who is a retired barber & showed me the way to shave anad strop. Have difficulty honing.
I purchased some Parkers from Howard on Ebay, B&B members & Qed- the best deal for Parkers. I get about 3 good shaves before changing the blade. I figured out the angle of the blade and don't cut myself anymore. They are good quality starters to learn the technique, but do not provide the straight razor shave. I have an array of razors and strops that were purchased separately or came with the razors. Even with the so-called 'shave ready' razors they need a gentle-good stropping. Yesterday I shaved with aNIB Dovo blond handle 6/8 carbon steel straight. Stropped it and got a very good shave. Nuff' said-good luck on your venture.
