parker razors

just got a parker today and im returning it today, the workmanship and quality is cheap, the doors were mis aligned and it seems like cheap lower end materials. never again.sorry

THe 22R was the first razor I purchased, though I quickly moved on to vintage Gillettes and modern 2 & 3 piece razors. I did not have any of the issues you report. It is a snazzyy loking razor if nothing else and I wish that one of the English, German or boutque razor makers would incoporate some of the Parker's design. Maybe your example got mishandled in shipment or their QC fell off the table, unfortunate.

same for me, a 86r, horrible craftmanship, crooked handle, doors dont line up, im not sure about the 3 piece, but the TTOs arent very good,

I have a 3 piece Parker (65R) and have had no problems with it. Maybe I just got lucky. That said, it isn't my favorite razor. I like it about as well as my Tech but not as much as my SS or Slim.

Sorry yours didn't work out.

My Parker 22R (which I no longer use, because I've moved on to vintage Gillettes) is a fine razor that worked perfect for me. Loved the design and the long handle and it delivered BBS shaves for me every time.

My Parker 90R worked okay for me, although I've since found other DEs that I like better, to say nothing of SE and injectors. There was slightly more blade exposure on one side than the other, but it was parallel to the safety bar on both sides, and shaved well enough.

I guess the problem is that if a company has a reputation for inconsistent quality, you don't want to recommend it to other people even if it worked out for you.

+1

While you might feel ok recommending it to a seasoned vet who knows a good razor from a bad one, making a recommendation to a newbie, who lacks the knowledge required to tell razors apart would be a pretty bad move, especially when superior choices that don't suffer from QC issues are available for just a few dollars more.

Hi Alex,
Apparently you bought the 22R with the 2010 head. I thought the quality had improved but apparently there are still issues. I have an older 22R which is perfect and shaves very nicely.

The 65 is one of the only Parker razors I would recommend based on the ones I have had.

FWIW
I bought an 80R from Classic Shaving (their "FAVORITE") and for me it has been a good mild razor with no construction flaws.

My first D/E was a 22R. Almost sent me back to Cartridgeville.:mad3: What a piece of junk it was, although it did look nice. It's the only razor I've owned that popped of silo doors when tightened and the handle was very slippery.
