Parker De's

I have a 90R, it is a beginner razor that won't let you mess up the angle. My only problem with it is the TTO part of the handle. Instead of being at just the tip, it is 3/4 of the handle. It is really easy to make it loose when you are shaving, as I am just starting out this is not a good thing IMO. Other than that I really like the razor, just make sure you buy one with the TTO lower on the handle.

I think here are more parker users than what it seems. Usually when somebody starts to talk about parker razors thread gets "too" many answers from the haters who suggest to forget the brand totally.

I had a Parker 22L (their clone of the Lady Gillette). It shaved fine, and had no issues, however, there are now other brands available (such as the already mentioned Cadet) for the same price that are vastly superior to it. No reason to buy a razor that is only "acceptable", when a vastly superior product can be had for the same price.

I use a 94r daily and love it. I don't mind people who have had a bad experience with a parker hating on them, but I think a lot of times people just jump on a particular bandwagon. Certain things run in trends and saying a Parker is a *** is one of the current trends. Mine is perfect, finish is great and it shaves as good as any vintage I own. I love the heft of it and although I have other razors sitting on my counter waiting to be used, the Parker has seen all the action lately. I can't speak for the TTO's, or any other 3 piece for that matter, but my 94r is pretty great IMO.

I use my Parker 82R frequently and like it. No quality control issues and I also like the heft.

But I was unaware of Cadet and now need to go explore...

I concur, the Parker razors are very good, and the brand has been around since 1973, if they were that bad, they would have sunk by now... As a retailer, we've been selling parker for more than 2 years and have had 1 quality issue, which is nothing ! I believe if you find one attractive to your eyes, don't hesitate ;-)

I think that is somewhat faulty logic: we are not, nor have we ever been Parker's primary market. Parker is an Indian company, who sells most of their razors to Indian customers.

As I understand it, the brand is not considered to be high quality in India. It's considered to be a low end razor.

Parker attempted to sell those same low end razors overseas, and failed miserably, as evidenced by the constant problems, and lack of quality control in the early days. They have made a genuine effort to improve their overseas bound products, and their most recent offerings (such as the 29L) are certainly an improvement over what they used to produce.

I have heard/read that they corrected many of their QC issues that may have plagued them in the past. I completely stayed away from them b/c I read here how bad they were.
After hearing that they may have turned it around, I took a chance and bought a 92R (ultra heavyweight TTO) a couple of months ago.

Perhaps because I was partly expecting a terrible razor, I was very pleasantly surprised. It is a quality razor at a good price point. I prefer my Muhle, Fatips, certain vintage gillettes but based on my experience with the 92R I would have to say that they are more than a good value for your dollar.

I never have tried one but I was tempted several times. It is just with the reviews all over the place I decided to spend my money elsewhere.
I am still curious though and they seemed to have improved their quality but not enough to take my chances yet.

Nice to hear from the Parker owners! I myself have 5 Gillettes, 4 Merkurs and 3 straights so I won't be purchasing a Parker anytime soon.
I hear so muck about 4 or 5 brands but never hear about Parker de's so I asked the question!

Up until very recently I used a Parker 65r every day for about a year. Great razor, no complaints here. After my current SE fascination wanes back down, I am sure I'll go back to the 65r.

Not bad at all!
I have 7 parkers and none of them have any issues. They are my best shavers with Muhles and some Merkurs. I think every brand has their own QC problems. A while ago weber has plating issues and it is at least double as expensive razor than parker. Fatip has been mentioned in many times with issues.

Alex: I remember to read that you sold your fatip because it was a poor /harsh shaver with bad finish. Still you recommend those to the others with full heart? What's the point put-down parkers?
