I'm in the market for a new DE and came across some Parker models. I see that they are less expensive than the Merkurs (I'm looking at a new Merkur 34C). Here's my questions:

1. What is the general reputation of Parker DE's?
2. Where are they made? I'd rather spend twice the money for a European/American DE than a Chinese DE. I know....I'm a snob.

Parkers are made in India. Their QC was suspect in the past, but I have heard that they are getting better. I have a 91R, and had no problems with it, quality wise. It is, however, extremely aggressive.
