Parker Badger Brush

Hey guys, I'm looking into getting one of the less expensive Parker Badgers and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this one:

I saw the two reviews but one seemed to center on the workmanship of the handle and the other said it was "not bad" so I'm just looking for others who may have a bit more experience with the brush and could let me know some pros or cons of the actual bristles. I have only used boar brushes so I have little knowledge of badger.

Thanks so much guys.

I have a Parker Silvertip that was overpriced, but the workmanship is fine. How can you go wrong for $18 at your door. The knot is probably worth at least that amount. The Black badger will be "scritchy", a property many, including me, like.

Heck, during the time I spent typing this I talked myself into buying one.

cool, I really liked the handle design, an omega I have is similar style of handle and it feels really good in my hand, just was wondering about the bristles. I guess I should say your welcome for adding to your SBAD.

I thought about it all day, and just ordered one. I once bought a $42000.00 car with less thought. It was a MISTAKE. If today's purchase was another wrong choice at least I am only out a few bucks.

I have this brush, and the black badger does nicely, the finish on the handle will start to deteriorate when left in water. I had to sand mine down and refinish it. It is much nicer now.

I have had the brush for a couple of weeks now and I like it , not too scritchy. The finish on the handle was a little "rough" (I did not expect the same finish found on a Joris Royal Rosewood Brush) I sanded it lightly with 600 paper, applied a CA finish and gave it a final buff on a Beall wheel. It looks looks great and the original finish is probably protected against water damage.

Got my hands on a Parker badger brush a few months ago. No bad but there are better options.

My cat enjoys it as in she loves to be brushed with it.

I have a Parker Black Badger. I got the white handled one awhile back. Not bad is a pretty good description I think. I use it with creams sometimes and it works well.

I bought this one:

Both are 100% badger bristles. If it's anything like mine, I will say that the brush has soft bristles, holds water well and I'd consider it "floppy". Floppy brushes work GREAT with shave creams and do OK with soaps. I use this with my TOBS Eton College or Jermyn St and it makes a ton of lather (face or bowl). For the size it could also be a great travel brush.

Only downside is like other Parker brushes it does stink a bit out of the box. But it does go away after you use it a couple times.

I too started with a boar brush and then I got my first badger brush, just happend to be a Parker. Parker may be cheaper than the other brands but IMO they're good brushes.
