Parker 60R '.........'

Couldn't find this in the reviews so I thought I'd try here. Anyone tried a Parker 60R? I'm currently using a British Tech but am thinking of trying a TTO. Ideally I'd prefer another all metal model and not wanting to spend (too) much. Found this on ebay as a BIN for under £20 and am wondering if it's a good buy.

Have you thought about a Super Speed? I have heard the Parkers are not particularly well made - but I cannot confirm this as I don't own one.

Also - how about a Feather Popular?

Parkers are hit or mis in the quality area. However they are mild shavers. Ming Shi TTO are mild but better with the quality. Or simply buy a Gillette

Thanks. QC is def. a concern after some of the other Parker reviews I've read. Have just posted a WTB for a super speed as I really like my current Gillette  still new and my bristles aren't too problematic so I'm not really looking for anything too aggressive.

I would second the Ming Shi if you are looking to go the new TTO route, rather than vintage. It's built better than a Weishi, looks nicer, and is not so excessively mild as to be nearly useless.

I took but one pass with my Weishi, and promptly sold it. It is so extremely mild, that I found it to effectively be useless. It took off about 1/4 the hair in the first pass that my Tech does.:lol:

I bought it about a month ago and it's my first DE razor so I can't compare it to others. It does have a "2010 head" so maybe Parker has done somethijng to address whatever problems they are reputed to have had in the past.
In any case I can say I've been very happy with the razor. I like the heft - I think 3 oz. I've gotten some superbly smooth shaves with three passes using this razor and I've got to believe it will get better as my technique improves. The build quality seems good for the price of $22 - $26. The doors work well. The blade is held firm and level. The grip is comfortable. My only "complaint" is that I have small hands and I think I might like to try a shorter handle. The 60R has a 4" handle and I think Parker's shortest is 3.75".
I say go for it - it's a great piece of equipment for the price IMO.
