I picked up this fine example at one of my favorite antique shops this weekend. It writes very nicely, anyone a fan or hater of this pen? It doesn't seem to garner a lot of respect, but I like it.
Yeah, I have a steel one on the way, should have been here yesterday. I couldn't find a gold one to replace the gold one I ruined. I took it apart, and bent it back, put it down on the table. Came back not even 20 minutes later and it was gone. I think my wife threw it away not knowing what it was.
I have 3 45's that I've had for it seems like forever. They're great writers that are easy to maintain. I woudn't part with mine for any pen being made today.
I've got a later model 45 Special GT, black barrel with brushed stainless cap and gold plated trim. The 14k medium nib writes nicely, but the pen leaves me cold. Occasionally I ink it up, but I always end up cleaning it and putting it away after the fill is used up. I don't really have any complaints with it, but it just doesn't call me to use it like so many of my other pens do.
