What's new

pants with a comfort/elastic waist

Do you have a favorite pant with an elastic/comfort waist that you'd recommend?

I'm looking for something that is casual/business casual.

I've been wearing Gramicci's Rockin pant for many years now, but it looks like they have discontinued it or have supply issues, so I'm looking for alternatives.

I have a couple pair from Land's End that are comfortable and nice looking, casual trousers. Bought them six-eight years ago. Take a look at their site.

LL Bean makes a great pair of shorts, and they probably offer the same feature in many of their slacks.
I believe they call it "Hidden Comfort."

I found a sale on Hart, Shaffner and Marx pants and have 5 pair now. They all have the comfort waistband, and were all under $45 a pair. But they retail for considerably more than that.

Wow, this brings back some memories. My work wardrobe in the 80's was Sansabelt slacks and Izod polo shirt, back when they were a licensee of Lacoste. Man, I was stylin'!

I don't have any recommendations on these now, but I appreciate seeing those from others. Sound pretty comfortable.

That's pretty much my current wardrobe. I wear Gramicci pants and a polo (usually a Patagonia or Timberland).

Thanks to all who have replied so far, but nothing looks inspiring yet. I want something that is all cotton and that doesn't have the chemical treatment that makes pants wrinkle-free.

Men's wear house has a nice comfortable khaki like that, only problem I had was that my Iron Rangers wore out the cuffs, I think I had them tailored a little too short.

I just started looking at this thread again and was interested in this brand...whatever comes up online seems to be wool. Do they also make cotton stuff?

FWIW, I have stopped wearing Gramicci because whatever I had wore out completely and they have changed the sizing and material so it no longer works for me (L is too tight, XL is too big).

So I have now been exclusively wearing Dockers D4 pleated pants with comfort waist. They are a poly/cotton blend and they have been working OK, but quality leaves a lot to be desired. The stitching starts to come apart after a few washes.

Hence I have started looking for something else.

Many of the top-end khaki makers like Bill's Khaki's and Jack Donnelly don't offer anything with a comfort waist.

Oh boy, do I ever!

Interesting the comments about Dockers quality, I usually buy 2 pairs a year and they last about a year before they look shabby rather than falling apart. That's usually 2 days wear a week, and then a wash, would be 3 weeks per month, the fourth I'm travelling and would be in a suit.

Only cold wash colors. Had the same rotation for years.

I like the comfort waist with flat front. Usually d4, but just got 2 pairs of d3's.
