P.160

I am thinking on trying this soap hard or soft?

I will just get the samples size to start out with from shoeboxshaveshop.com.

I got the Duro. It's still somewhat moldable. I pressed it into a Mama Bear's container. I couldn't see a reason to go softer, for myself.

I have only tried the Duro version of P.160, it molded easily into a bowl,I would also think anything softer might be a little harder to work. I kept my sample covered with simple stretch wrap and it lasted a fair time without any ill effects.

P.160 is well priced and a good value.

I have both.

I MUCH prefer the Duro ("hard") version.

The scent is awesome, and it lathers REALLY well.

ATM, however, I'm not sure how much in love I still am with it. For some odd reason, I usually knick myself with it. :( shame.

I am using Valobra Crema di sapone purissima(Almond)and just wanted to try another Almond scented soap.

Don't even bother just get Cella :)

thanks Chris

yeah yeah, I know. Cella is this week's Tabac, BUT.................I truly believe P.160 has a more pleasing smell than Cella. Cella reminds me of a Department store with rubbery sporting goods for some reason. Not bad, but not great. Not enough Almond for my tastes. YMMV.

WHY NOT BUY ALL OF THEM SINCE THEY ARE ALL VERY REASONABLY PRICED?
:thumbup1:
They shave VERY similarly for me, PLUS, I think they both shave a step above Valobra soft soaps.

Hey Andy,

Just be aware that P.160 smells more like Amaretto than it does Almond. It's not going to smell like Valobra.

This is why I like it. I really don't care for almond scents even though I still use a few products that feature them.

I have all three of Cella, Morbido, and Duro. I don't find the Morbido too soft to work with. It's softness makes it easy to reform as the surface wears away. I really like all three of these and don't find them significantly different. I personally like using the Morbido since I like to be difficult :001_tongu

I cannot confirm this statement; both Cella and P.160 are good performers and Cella is a bit faster maybe to lather up and tolerates a wider soap/water variety but when you get your P.160 right it is formidable.

Protection of P.160 lather is at least as good as the Cella plaster for me and when both soaps are aged a bit I definitely prefer the scent of P.160, but not so fresh out of the box; initially I liked Cella's scent better.

I have the duro and while I left the soap unused for a while, it dried out a bit (became harder) although the performance is at least as good if not better than before.
Also the scent changed from a very sweet marzipan/amaretto scent to a more bitter almond.

Still some 950 grams to go! :001_smile
