The great soap sample index

I have amassed quite a number of soap samples. It all started after the disappointment with the scent of Zingariman The Rambler.
I said that I don't want to experience such disappointments again, so samples are the best option IMO.

what I want to do is try out a sample once a week and compile a table with my experience with that soap..
Stay tuned..

Zingariman the Highlander - a very good soap base with a fresh, herbal, masculine scent..
A complex scent which is hard to describe, but it an intoxicatingly fresh scent. Mix of herbs and a bit of spice and woods. Love it.
Scent strength is pretty high and it does linger for a good half a day.
Will leave the official link to it for you to read more on it.

Soap is protective and slick, perhaps a bit tricky with the water ratio, but with excellent post shave.

A spicy, with not that much sweetness. A bit on the dry side. Has also an "earthy" smell to it - possibly from the patchouli.
Zingariman "The Master" is somewhat similar, but I much prefer it over this, "The Merchant"

As usual the soap base is very good.

First time I tried a soap from Noble Otter.
Scent is that of an Earl Grey tee, with Bergamot and a hint of Orange and vanilla. But as soon as I lathered it up there is this synthetic scent of some glue or paint that I don't think mixes well.. Pity. Hence the rather low score.

Soap was very easy to lather up, felt nice on the face. Didn't seem to be as thick and protective as others. Don't get me wrong, it was more than adequate.

For an alternative Earl Grey, try Barrister and Mann Cheshire. Both soap base and scent are better,IMO.
But looking forward for my next sample from Noble Otter: "Monarch"

Next up: House of Mammoth "Beloved"

Wow. I was impressed with this one.. The scent, once lathered up, explodes with freshness. It's quite heavy on bergamot, but it's a complex scent which includes lavender and some woody scents.. Very pleasant scent. A mix of Earl Grey and some fancy cologne.

Was writing yesterday that I prefer B&M Cheshire over Noble Otter "The et Vanille". But "Beloved" is better than both if you are an Earl Grey fan.

Was also very impressed with the soap base. Dense, slick. Similar to B&M. Goes on the wishlist.

Next up, Zingariman Bon Monsieur.. Smells very nice, fresh, but once lathered up it wasn't as great as expected... Had higher hopes. It's a solid buy still, but I prefer The Highlander over this..
