What's new

Oskar Blues' Ten Fidy.

I mentioned this beer in a previous thread.

It is an imperial style stout that will seriously scorn you for ever unleashing it's greatness upon your taste buds and your metabolism.

Seriously, just look at the picture below, its like motor oil with foam...really dark, fragrant and evil foam.

It is by far the chewiest and thickest imperial I've tried to date; more of a beast than Mephistopheles from Avery. (Although Mephistopheles has a higher alcohol content.)

Not to be taken lightly, euphemistically or literally.

What a great beer! I love everything Oskar Blues puts out. Once winter starts rolling around, nothing beats an Imperial Stout. That sweet intense maltiness, with just enough roast to balance it out. In the bottle, they develop all kinds of great flavors like cherry, plum and other stone fruits.

If you REALLY want to try a thick imperial stout, pick up Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. Its an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels, so depending on how hot the summer is, determines how much "angels share" is removed from the barrel. After oak aging, the beer ends up around 12%! The perfect beer for a cold winter night.

I'm also a huge fan of

I'm not a huge fan of this beer. I'm much more partial to Victory Storm King if we're talking about aggressive Stouts.
