merkur 11c or 25c,what is the best? for great shaving?

I have the 12c. I liked it a lot, but has not had much use since I've really gotten into Gillettes.

Not to hijack this thread but, wundergussy, are you referring to Gillette open combs? If so I am curious how they compare to the Merkurs, and which models you like.

Go with the 11c (open comb HD). I got mine from westcoastshaving.com for Father's Day. Great price, great service, and now...great shaves!

I have two open comb razors,11c & Muhle R41. Both use the same head but, for some reason the blade in the Merkur needs to be adjusted slightly as it fits loosley on the pins. The same blade in the Muhle doesn't have his problem. I have exchanged the Murker but, the new one was exactly the same. Some people seem to find the Muhle too light weight and its true that the Merkur is slightly heavier but the weight is in the handle not the head. The Muhle feels better balanced as what weight there is, is in the head. Both give great shaves but IMHO for a few £1's more the Muhle was the better buy. I really like the look of those old style Gillettes.
