OOOOLD EdQuinine - oil in it?

I bought a vintage bottle of Pinaud Eau de Quinine - half full. First off, the liquid is lighter than the current concoction - almost pink. It smells quite like today's edq. AND - it seems there are rather large globules of ...oil(?) it it.

does anyone know if an old formulation contained oil (as it was a tonsorial tonic)? I don't know if the oil shows in the second pic below.

any info will be greatly appreciated!

It says "compound"...I'm guessing that means it has oil. I do know that certain brands of hair tonic come in oil and non-oil versions. I wonder what kind of oil is in there? Does it smell good?

Jon-

That's a cool find, congrats!!

The label kinda looks like the present day label quite a bit--neat that they didn't change it too much. I really like using the EdQ during the winter months. I know it's an acquired taste, but I have come to enjoy the scent of EdQ as much as any of the traditional Pinaud A/S. Makes the face feel great too.

Let us know how the "vintage" EdQ works for ya--how bout' a review??

all the best,

Marty E.
