November 1, 2022 I started growing a mustache for No Shave November. I was retiring the next month, so I decided to let it grow out. I envisioned a huge handlebar mustache after a while, but I didn't know how long it would take. It's maddeningly slow when you want it longer so you can actually wax the ends, lol. The first three months are frustrating, my whiskers were long enough to curl onto my lips but too short to wax in place. Keep at it if you are thinking about growing a handlebar mustache! I use Death Grip mustache wax. It's fairly hard, and you need to use a hair dryer to soften the wax. But I did figure out a hack, put the wax can in your pocket for a half hour or so, your body heat will soften the wax. Anyway, here I am with a year old handlebar. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself. The ends now go past my ears if I don't curl it.
