I did not have one like this so I grabbed it at the same show as the others. Notice how short the rise is on it compared to the 1912. I also grabbed the Ever Ready as well, any help with ID's welcome!

the ER is a 1917. is it me or does that 1912 NOT say GEM on the back?

That is a very astute observation, and you are correct, sir! It is stamped PAT'D 1912 under the head, where the handle screws in. Inside the head is, "GEM BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, MADE IN USA.

oh wow, interesting. seems more like a travel razor.
I have one, and it comes in one of those little square vest pocket cases.
And I hadn't noticed until you said it. It doesn't say gem on the back either.

Nice catch there amb, I do have a couple of the Ever Ready travel sets, and they are not marked on the outside of the head either.
