I looked at the reviews, but could not determine how hard the Omega soap is that comes in the black container. My question is if I can lather it directly in the container provided or if it is meant to transfer to another bowl to lather? Thanks.....

I load the brush on the puck and move to my face. You could use a bowl or your palm but I wouldn't lather in the container. It's a fairly soft soap.
It's a pretty soft "soap." One could easily stick their finger right through the stuff. On the rare occasion that I find myself using the Omega I load my brush until I get a little lather foaming over the edge of the dish, which is pretty shallow, and lather on my face.

Thank you both, that is exactly what I needed to know!
By " lather it directly in the container provided " I presume you mean lathering directly on the puck? Just FYI, that method tends to waste a lot of product, you may not want to do that with your nicer soaps
