Old Astra blades?

On a second look the seller says there "made in Russia" in "Item Specifics". Why do you think they are made in Czech Republic?
So what's right?
Edit: after some checking I came to the conclusion these are not old stock and are made in Russia.

Originally Astra blades came from Czechoslovakia and were bought by Gillette (and are the blades that got me started...). Later production moved to Russia but I can't say from the picture where these were made.

I apologize for my mistake, blades on the link are not really old and from current production in my opinion. These are NOS blades:

Those are really old but the last years of production in Czechoslavakia had the same graphics as the current production blades from Russia. I just can't remember if they were in cardboard boxes or in plastic ones (or both).

I saw them on EBAY. What the heck are these? NOS Astra blades? Made where?

I couldn't resist and had to get these, just because of the for Astras seemingly odd plastic box. They arrived today, together with two low cost shavettes and a very nice thank-you card:

A closer look at the boxes made me laugh:

Opening the back door the plastic box releases its treasure:

The blades seem to be genuine Astra SS (those with four wax globs that came double wrapped). I used one this morning and it performed just like any other Astra SS I have used so far.

However, the plastic boxes are a cheap and not so well made imitation that would not work as intended by the inventors, manufacturers and marketers of the original dispensers

In the end, I not only had a good laugh for the additional money these blades cost, but also the kindness of this seller from Thailand made this purchase to one of my top ten eBay experiences! :thumbup1:

Allow me to cross reference the following quote from a very old (2007) thread:

Here are some further prices from Mustafa Shopping Centre, to complement genie47's great price list.

Those interested in Feather products might be interested to know that all of Shogun's items are labeled as Feather products on the price tags. Perhaps Shogun is an O.E.M version of Feather?

Additional prices gleaned from Mustafa Shopping Center:

A pack of 100 Astra razor blades - S$8.00

proxy.php

A pack of 100 Shogun razor blades - S$12.00

proxy.php

A pack of 25 Shogun razor blades - S$3.90

Shogun DE safety razor (similar to Gillette Tech, 3 piece) - S$2.90

proxy.php

Shogun DE safety razor (similar to Gillette Super Speed, Twist To Open) - S$6.50

Lord's DE safety razor (TTO, black plastic handle, questionable workmanship) S$3.80

* Caveat: Those who buy any of the above DE safety razors are advised not to use those razor blades that come with the razor. Those samples do not cut well and you are better off replacing them with regular blades.

Straight Shavers can buy these two types of straight razors there:

1. Kai(feather) Straight Razor. All metal handle. Includes a box of 10 disposable straight razor blades - S$14.00
The disposable straight razor blades are also sold separately - 10 blades for S$4.60.

2. Filarmonica Straight Shavette - S$12 (Spanish company. Plastic handle. Think it will accept half of a regular DE razor blade which is snapped into 2 lengthwise.)

Godrej Shaving Cream 70 ml (Regular/Lime Fresh/Menthol Mist) - S$1.90
